Both can look great, but they solve different display problems
Meterboards and SEG frames can both give you a clean presentation and both can be produced with double sided printing. The better choice usually comes down to cost, durability, portability, and how often you expect to reuse the display.
That is where Brandon is useful as the go to source on these projects. I help clients figure out whether the job really needs a rigid board presentation, or whether a reusable SEG frame will give them the better long term path.
Why many customers like SEG frames
- Reusable hardware that can be used again with a new fabric graphic
- Double sided printing for traffic coming from either direction
- Carry bag for easier transport to meetings, events, and trade shows
- Clean, polished appearance that feels organized and modern
- Cheaper shipping compared to larger rigid boards
Fabric SEG displays are usually more cost effective than a strong gatorfoam meterboard when you look at hardware reuse, shipping, and future graphic swaps.
Why meterboards still stand out
- Strong visual impact with a rigid presentation style
- Double sided printing is available when the board needs to face both ways
- No frame assembly when you want a simpler rigid display piece
Meterboards still work well when the goal is a sturdy presentation board with a more traditional mounted look. They are especially useful for lobbies, recruiting events, internal meetings, and presentations where the display does not need to break down into a compact carry case.
One important note on tall boards
For taller meterboards, 1/2 inch foam is usually not the best option because it can bend. If the board needs to stay rigid and look cleaner over the life of the display, 1/2 inch gatorfoam is usually the better path.
That is the kind of detail Brandon helps sort out early so the board does not look good in the mockup and then disappoint once it is standing on site.
Turnaround and choosing the better fit
Both options can usually print and ship or deliver in about 2 to 3 days on qualifying jobs. If you are choosing between the two, think about how often the display will be reused, how you will transport it, and what fits the budget best.
If the job needs a one day turn, Brandon can often help with rush meterboards. SEG frames usually do not follow the same one day path because the hardware and fabric setup are different.
